Yay! Friday check-in! The music and that Friday check-in soothing Eve voice!

I was a week late to this one but this is such a great way of looking at things. It feels so much healthier to think about contentment. It just seems like everything is about being super happy, and that's just so unrealistic.

I think it's a sign of the negativity of things in general but it was tough to come up with things to put in these buckets. But it was so helpful to admit that life was a bit all over the place. And of course take deep breaths and stretch! :P

Aah, the Friday Check In... I've missed these. Thank you! They help me switch gears and reset, or just mellow and relax. And tonight's gift is a reminder that everyday, every moment doesn't have to be bad. Although, if we dwell on it, may seem so. But when we stop just looking at the black clouds and put some effort in finding those other good or those contented times, we will probably be surprised. Life is a smorgasbord of experiences, even at the worst of times I think also.

Friday Check-In? Yes, please! In the spirit of this one, a saying I often find myself considering is, “you don’t realize how dirty your widows are until you clean them”. Not just your glass windows, of course, but your life’s “existential windows” as well. Recent research on brain chemistry is finding that chemical equilibrium is something our brains are always trying to achieve (weather we want it to or not). We can’t be happy all the time, and perhaps content is a more consistently achievable outcome. One we can reliably build on.
