Thank you so much! I think it was Miss Churchill's brother and his wife who adopted Frank, not her parents - but it absolutely relieved Mr. Weston of having to raise the boy. I think it explains a lot (which you'll see as the novel goes on!)

Poor Miss Churchill, provides a son and a convenient parenting arrangement via her now childless parents, nicely alleviating Mr. Weston of the drudgery of being a single parent. Then she is given the old banana peel off stage! Love it with the beautiful voice work you are giving Austen's words!
