Wonderful Eve, a true delight! I've always seen getting out into the green spaces as being a great tonic for mind and body but more so if you are able to share with a friend. Worth so much more than any medication and the Counsellors Office. My recent GP review has seen a further reduction in the level of dosage I'm using. I'm attributing a good deal of this to all the great advice and audios since coming into the Garden back in April I think, or around end of April. You make all of us here feel like much better men I think it's fair to say!

    • A Eve on 2017-06-29 11:12:00 (UTC)

Aww, that's so wonderful of you to say, thank you so much. And I'm so glad to hear your dosage is being tapered, that's great news 💋

So you're talkative when you're happy... good to know :P

Books? Yes, I like the physical pages experience, too, and never got into e-books. Besides, for health reasons I try to reduce my exposure to wi-fi/cellular device signals.

Skinny dipping? Yes, when geography/circumstances were friendly to it. Happy memories of making my way down to (somewhat) warm ocean an hour or two before sundown. Head barefoot along sandy shoreline far enough to find some chance of solitariness. Leave my clothes by a rock or tree that I'd be able to find again. Then the freedom of just me and the water! To me, being naked was symbolic of accepting myself as I am. As I gently swam, usually backstroke, I'd look at the clouds, or close my eyes, and just be present with thoughts and feelings. In that centering place, I'd visualize the stress washing out of me into the passing water. Watched some lovely sunsets, too, from water or shore. Then once dry, go find clothes and flashlight for the walk back to a moped :)

    • A Eve on 2017-06-28 17:36:43 (UTC)

That's a lovely image, I love the moped too! I love mopeds, especially the older ones before ebikes and scooters became such a thing.

      • Jeffsortairish on 2017-06-29 05:27:05 (UTC)

Thanks! It got by licensing as bicycle/moped due to its small engine, but it had scooter floorboard/front panel and 1950s styling. So yes, still quite a bit of 'older' in it. Like you and Jeepsy, I'd had a model in mind for months, and ended up finding a guy selling his a mere block away. Provided wonderful affordable transportation: 100+ mpg, no recurring license/insurance costs, just do maintenance, and enjoy being able to go on a jaunt, knowing I could arrive at a full parking area and still squeeze between cars to find an unobtrusive place to park. Being over 6 ft, I had to splay my knees to clear the handlebars when turning :)

        • A Eve on 2017-06-29 11:12:26 (UTC)

          haha that's a great image :P

Good morning Miss Eve, this walk was just what I needed before aother long work week, I just love these audios so much, every time I feel like I'm in a stressful place emotionally you always make things right and when things are good you just seem to make them that much better. I need to take more advantage of the beautiful west coast sunsets we have out here. Thank you.

    • A Eve on 2017-06-27 23:20:42 (UTC)

Aww, I'm so glad you liked it Joe 💋

Eve this was total bliss. I feel like i have no worries when i listen to you and i always enjoy the walks. This has a sweet nothings feel to it. Of course i don't mind that you like to talk a lot cuz i enjoy listening. It's hard for me to be with a woman who doesn't like to talk especially a lot. As for the heat, im used to it here in Shreveport. It does get hott here but as a kid, all we had was fans too and i took lots of baths to stay cool. Plus i was born in the summer. You can definitely fry your eggs outside lol.

I hate really cold weather tho. I like for the weather to be right in the middle. It's good for cuddling tho. My plans for the summer is celebrating my birthday which is this coming sunday on July 2nd. Your audios like this and your caring nature is the best gift 😊. I wanna travel more and i do plan to visit Dallas next Saturday. As for books, i prefer the physical copies cuz you easily screenshot your favorite parts.

My favorite book at the moment is Joel Osteen The Power Of I Am. It really helps my self esteem and empowers me just like you do on here. Maybe when i read the goosebumps books & romantic stories, I'll try that in audio form someday. Also i love how you always make time for us and reply to comments. That makes you one of a kind and i appreciate it. Never change and i hope you have a wonderful day and summer 🌸.

    • A Eve on 2017-06-26 14:43:40 (UTC)

Shreveport, yes you must be just soaking. I was in NO once in April and it was too humid for me. :P

I hope you have a wonderful birthday! (There is a birthday audio here, just sayin' :P)

      • Georgio36 on 2017-06-26 17:04:33 (UTC)

Yes! I know about the birthday audio. The thing is i have to wait all freakin' year to hear it lol 😄. I'll let you know what think of it when i comment there on my birthday. I bet its gonna be out of this world. You are always welcomed here in Louisiana when it's not hot lol

        • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-06-26 22:57:00 (UTC)

I'll put in my congrats too: As they like to say on Reddit, Happy Cakeday Georgio! 🍰🎁

        • billymacorbuddy on 2017-06-26 19:34:54 (UTC)

Because I might forget later; Happy Birthday Georgio! 🎂

  • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-06-26 02:50:29 (UTC)

I love these walks with you, Eve. No pressure to impress with erudite conversation, just two good friends (or more than friends) doing simple companiable activities together at day's close. And as always I really appreciate the background ambient soundscape of water, breezes and crickets lending much to the immersion. Also helping with the immersion is the mildly hot 28 degrees I'm in right now. :P No AC or fans either, just an icebox stocked with freezies.

I'm re-reading Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire before he finally finishes The Winds of Winter. Also reading The Restaurant at the End of the Universe in my HHGTTG omnibus. And though it's a video game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (based on the work of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski) which is crammed with tons of text to read.

I know it's silly but at times I feel like I'm no true reader since I neither devour books in a day, nor can I boast of having read a small library's worth of works. If some would judge me as a mere amateur or 'casual' then so be it, I cannot change their opinion nor do I care to. Mostly it's my inner critic being the source of these doubts, but I'm improving at telling him to shut it and sod off. 😈

As for audiobooks, as you know I'm savouring Stay With Me and Born Yesterday. 🙂 And since it's freely available as a public domain work, I may revisit Pride and Prejudice in the future via online PDF.

    • A Eve on 2017-06-26 14:41:57 (UTC)

No such thing as a 'true reader' - read whatever you enjoy, it's all an art form and valuable in itself.

Pride and Prejudice is brilliant :P

      • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-06-26 22:27:48 (UTC)

I knew it all along, but thanks for confirming Eve. :) I can even try out that Goodreads site you mentioned.

Reading Pride and Prejudice @ 14 years old, it was the first ever romance novel I've read so it'll always be special. Still got a box of my mom's Harlequin romance novels kicking around in the basement, and maybe a few of those Photo Romance Kiss/Darling magazines. I suspect the writing's a mixed bag in those though :P

        • A Eve on 2017-06-27 23:22:16 (UTC)

Harlequin are particularly 'bad' as far as romances go. They are the ultimate in throwaway, cardboard character type things. A lot of modern romances are considerably better - but it is interesting that your mom, like pretty much everyone's mom, has a box of these stories? (I told you they were popular :P)

    • billymacorbuddy on 2017-06-26 12:28:56 (UTC)

Did you read any of the Witcher books, Charlie? I'm one of the strange few that actually read them before playing the games. If you haven't, definitely read the first one. It puts a lot of the plot of Witcher 3 into context, particularly when it comes To Ciri and Yennifer.

      • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-06-26 22:35:11 (UTC)

Haha, Billy, you can act all hipster around Witcher fans: "Ahem, I was reading Sapkowski before it was cool" 😄

I tried to snag copies of 'The Last Wish' and 'Blood of Elves' last summer at the library but the copies were always loaned out for weeks before I gave up. The books must be good if they were that hard to borrow.

For now I'll content myself with studying the Bestiary so I don't get pwned so often on Death March New Game+ ☠️

        • billymacorbuddy on 2017-06-26 23:56:07 (UTC)

Well, you got me there. I only played through it once, and on Normal.

I was able to get a copy of both The Last Wish and Blood of Elves for my Kindle. I think The Last Wish was like $.99 at the time. Once upon a time I felt the same way Eve does about ebooks, but once I caved and got a Kindle, my reading skyrocketed.

  • billymacorbuddy on 2017-06-26 00:43:26 (UTC)

Ugh, I hate the heat anymore. Not that long ago I used to man-mode it through those 90+ degree days (32 C for the rest of the world). Now if it's anywhere near that hot, the AC goes on otherwise I can't sleep.

Speaking of cooling off by the water. Do you know that I live less than 5 minutes from the shores of Lake Erie, yet I couldn't tell you the last time I went down to the lake. How sad is that? I think I'll make it a point to go one day this week.

You said you're an audiophile Eve. We know you listen to audio books, but when Eve listens to music, what kind of music does Eve listen to?

    • A Eve on 2017-06-26 14:41:04 (UTC)

I really do enjoy lots of different music. Flight of the Conchords, of course. But right now I'm really into Sia, just love her voice. ❤️

      • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-06-26 22:45:11 (UTC)

I loved Chandelier but it got a bit too much airplay so I got tired of it after hearing it for the 200th time :P

Today, it's last year's 'The Greatest' stuck in my head when it comes to Sia. Not bored of it yet. :)

I was checking out some FotC on YouTube yesterday. I really liked the one called 'Inner City Pressure' and its sorta retro-ish vibe.

        • A Eve on 2017-06-27 23:23:04 (UTC)

They are so versatile, they do all sorts of different styles, very enjoyable albums

      • joetinla1967 on 2017-06-26 17:56:23 (UTC)

Sorry I don't mean to intrude, I couldn't help reading that you like Sia Miss Eve you should listen to some of her early work with a band named Zero 7 you may like it, she's one of several vocalists in the band, now I'll start on this audio and again sorry for butting in to yours and Billy's conversation.

        • A Eve on 2017-06-27 23:23:21 (UTC)

No problem, Joe! Thanks for telling me, I'll check out Zero 7

        • CharlieRomeoLima on 2017-06-26 22:46:35 (UTC)

For the record Joe if you ever want to butt in on my conversations please feel free, I like discussions with fellow Eve fans. :)

          • joetinla1967 on 2017-06-27 00:14:07 (UTC)

            Thanks Charlie.

      • billymacorbuddy on 2017-06-26 15:10:54 (UTC)

Ah Sia, very unique voice. What I've heard of her's I liked. If you like Sia, you may like Aurora. She's become my go to "chill" artist.

        • A Eve on 2017-06-27 23:23:38 (UTC)

Oh cool, I'll check her out

        • joetinla1967 on 2017-06-26 17:58:39 (UTC)

Billy check out a song called Destiny by Zero 7 with Sia on vocals, let me know what you think of it.

          • billymacorbuddy on 2017-06-26 19:30:27 (UTC)

Very chill, I like it. She's come a long way from this to Chandelier. I love hearing how artists evolve over time. (Except for Jefferson Starship, they should have stayed Jefferson Airplane. :P)

            • joetinla1967 on 2017-06-26 19:42:34 (UTC)

              I agree.
